There are actually a few other "WikiEducators" lurking around on this list...
For anyone interested in gaining some free Wiki skills in return for contributing free educational content should have a look at our latest initiative, http://wikieducator.org/Learning4Content partially funded by a grant from the Hewlett Foundation. This project started at the University of Auckland on a machine under my desk... proof that you can go far with some Open source software and an open mind ... it is now one of the most talked about educational wikis around and New Zealand has made some substantial contributions towards its success.

Hi Danyl,
Good luck with your workshop.
I am in Canada BC for a week or so and have just has a really good meeting with the Comonwealth of Learning. The are championing the Open Education movement and have developed a Wiki Educator, based on the Wikipedia open source software.
I thought this may be of interest in your workshop.
Details available at
www.wikieducator.org.
The guy who s developing this is a Kiwi, Wayne Macintosh. He is a staunch Open Source advocate.

My proposal to do a couple of workshops at the Luminate eco-festival
at Caanan Downs (Takaka Hill, Te Wai Pounamu) has been accepted. One
of the workshops will focus on free culture, particularly Creative
Commons.
I am currently in Ōtautahi and I brought the small pile of CC
pamphlets I took from the lauch down with me, but they have got a
little battered. It would be good to have a fresh pile of tidy copies
to distribute at the festival, if someone could arrange sending them
down to me.
I plan to print out some other free culture materials including the
Libre Manifesto. If anyone has any other printed material they would
like me to share with those who attend my workshops, please feel free
to post it to me also.
I should be able to pick up post from Motueka before I head up to the
festival site if you sent it to:

Looking forward to working with you all to promote the uptake of
Creative Commons licences in Aotearoa.
