Rob/Peter/Terry

I've put Caterina Fake of Yahoo! on this email since I've used her post as an example; sorry in advance if I did wrong Caterina.

Thank you for your responses. The concensus for my scenario is to use a CC-By or "Attribution only" license for famous quotes.
I've embedded the license in the footer of my pages, like so:

A final question remains. I've planned a superb future for my site. I plan to be for text content; what FlickR is, for image content. Therefore (brace yourselves) I'm running through the problems of allowing users to submit their own quotations to the site to create personal "quotations books". As a preview, this is what I mean:
http://www.quotationsbook.com/myquotationsbook.php

Further, users could quote things they read. Small passages out of books/essays, with context. Others can then share and blog them. Someone's online book will have three sections:

1 - My favourite famous quotations (e.g. Paz, Ghandi, etc.)
e.g. from - http://www.quotationsbook.com/authors/7349/Mark_Twain

2 - My noted quotes (transcribed from published text with context)
e.g. those blogged - http://www.caterina.net/archive/000951.html

3 - My personal (/private) quotations, not famous or published anywhere
e.g. - http://www.otthon.net/mw/55.html

Besides the problems of hosting profanity and more; how do I license people's "books"? What license do I embed for sections 2, 3?

Kind regards

Amit
