I agree that some social
gathering will be good too, and it will get people to know who’s who and
what’s what, put some faces to names, and that will help our progress. Depending
on the format of the gathering preferred, and if in the end you need to find a
place to host the gathering, maybe I can help think/suggest and ask….

Good point
Haggen. Informal social gatherings are always a good idea for those who have
time. Maybe we should announce all those blogger and web networking events here
on the list too? Or is somebody on this list interested in hosting a social
get-together? Other suggestions for building a stronger CC community?

I would like to add a third point to this (3) we don't
know other members
in the 'core' group well enough to perform as a team. Also, it seems
to
me that the 'core' members come from different backgrounds, thus we
probably have different understandings and expectations of CC and the
group. Hong Kong people usually are
pragmatic and apolitical, but CC has
a political element to it and somewhere down the road this element might
become important. We need to take some time to form and
norm. We should
be inclusive and agree to disagree, but we surely need to know our
differences first ;) Recently, there are a number of Blogosphere meetings
and I know that some members within the 'core' are good friends and
probably meeting weekly. But I would still suggest some informal
events
would be good to build friendships and to discover our strengths as well
as our weaknesses.
Comments are welcome, including whether there should be the label 'core'.
