Hello all,

Jane is currently preparing the SOTC report for 2015 and asks for input from all of you. Take a look at her plan, and if you have any additions or comments, you can get in touch with her directly, (or discuss with her live in Seoul! )

Best and have a nice weekend!

Hi all,

We are preparing for this year's State of the Commons report. I am sharing the timeline and translation process now. We also welcome your feedback on other elements of the report, but it must be received by dates specified below for consideration. I have bolded dates of relevance to affiliates.

1. Timeline

7 Oct (Wed) - Deadline to volunteer to engage a platform in your region to get CC content and usage data

9 Oct (Fri) - Overall design concept is established for report

23 Oct (Fri) - Deadline for everyone to provide feedback on elements

30 Oct (Fri) - Deadline for all CC content and usage data; Data and narrative is sent to designer

9 Nov (Mon) - V1 from designer

16 Nov (Mon) - V2 final from designer including an infographic report, full report, and discrete graphics; Send out to affiliates for translation

27 Nov (Fri) - Deadline for translations to be included in official launch

30 Nov (Mon) - Press and communications coordination

7 Dec (Mon) - Public launch

2. Translations

We welcome translations of the infographics or the full report (or both). Please let me know if you and your team plan to translate the report so I can add you to the list for launch.

On 16 Nov, we will make the editable design files available for download on GitHub. Affiliates will have two weeks for translation, with the deadline being 27 Nov. See how we did it last year. Of course anyone is free to translate after that date, but it will not be included in the official launch of the report.

3. Other input

In addition to translations, we welcome your thoughts on the content of the report. The elements of the report are listed here. Please provide any feedback by 23 Oct. We are also happy to discuss on Day 0 of the Global Summit if there is interest and room during the affiliate meetings.

We also welcome volunteers who want to conduct outreach to a major community-driven content platform in their region for CC content and usage data. We have specific data categories we are asking of platforms, and I am happy to share those with volunteers who let me know by next week, 7 Oct. All actual data must be received by 30 Oct for consideration and inclusion in the report.

That's all for now folks. Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you in Seoul.

Best,
Jane
