Came with NT and Win95, 266Mhz, very expensive in 1997, excellent keyboard and LCD screen. This model had no onboard modem but some have a linmodem. BL2, 2.4 kernel. There is an BIOS update available, a linux image. It was rather tricky to remove NT (not working, used an XP-type boot menu) but leave 95 (bootgui=0), and then get it to boot to DOS.
1. pcmcia modems detected at ttyS0, sometimes work, sometimes no dial tone. (Puppy detected only ttyS1, which never works). The computer has a comport (com2?) and I think also infrared.
2. sound is supposed to be cs4232, ISA, but when I insmod everything, including io irq and dma, 'no such device'. Puppy acts similarly (I think if I manually modprobe the modules with parameters it still won't work).
(I will try Win95 for sound).
3. USB port (with flash drive) works fine in Puppy but crashes BL. I read something about a kernel bug, PCI IRQ sharing. uhci and usb-uhci give different error messages but both crash. 'uhci.c port count misdetected? forcing to 2 ports' (crash, power off) usb-uhci 'connect_debounce failed, port 1 disabled' (crash, power off)
The video (framebuffer, 2MB) and external floppy drive work perfectly.
No crashes other than from USB problem.
