Slackware 10.1 sata kernel (2.6.10?, 1.25MB) has built-in vesafb, modules for other fb, usb, sound. Did not test it.

SW11 sata kernel 2.6.33.3 (1.3MB) works with loadlin and vesafb in ext2,
but not with ramdisk BL2 (runs out of input data - no ramdisk support?).

slackware 11.1 (or 10.1) modules are compiled with the same gcc as the kernel. One large package.

I may try modifying slackware 11.1 config file to make a smaller kernel,
but any computer with sata controller has enough memory for 1.3MB kernel.

Don't know if they provide lucent modem modules.
