The Gateway has crashing problems with pcmcia or usb-storage with two of my kernels bzimlsfu and bzimlfnv but they both work fine with a Hitachi laptop. The Gateway also has a Windows 98 video problem (if you set BIOS to stretch the screen to full size in text mode Windows becomes invisible).
libc5 xfbdev also works here (unlike the Gateway where it segfaults).
The Hitachi says it is OPL-SAX on port 240 (DOS HWINFO) but opl3sa2 says port 240 is not a YMF7xx chipset. ??
Chips and Tech video chip. Also works as vesafb and SVGA X server.
Framebuffer text looks much better on an LCD screen (standalone) than regular text, which has fuzzy vertical stripes through the text.
