In the /etc/rc file i had commented out the
"cat /etc/issue" command. That prevented the
/etc/issue message from appearing at the end
of boot-up when it was still a root-only system.

But i already installed passwd on the Toshiba
a few days ago, and set up one user account
besides the root.

Now, when i boot, i get the /etc/issue message
again. I've search all over the filesystem and
can't figure out why that is appearing. The
only place i see any reference to it is in
/etc/rc, and it's still commented out there.
