http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/imm-on and ppa-on
There are two styles of parallel port zip drives and one takes
ppa.o (older) and the other imm.o.
insmod parport
insmod parport_pc
insmod scsi_mod
insmod sd_mod
insmod imm (or ppa)
The drivers were written for scsi zip drives (scsi_mod - general
scsi, sd_mod - scsi disk). cd burners even if atapi also
need scsi modules.
There is lots on this in the BL archives. USB zip drives also work
(at least with 2.4 kernel which supports USB storage) and they
come in 100 and 250MB sizes (both will read 100MB disks).
I use a parport zip drive to transfer files to and from laptops
with no USB ports. It is simpler to use than plip with parallel
transfer cable (and works with more parallel ports).
