BL2 uses standard Slackware (pkgtool) package
management. BL3 is able to install individual
Slackware-type packages (using pkg), but beyond
that BL3 does no package management.

I suggest you go to the d1 directory of
Slackware 4.0 and read the diskd1 file.
It describes the compiler packages available
(which can be installed on BL3 using pkg).
