Hmmm. And you issued su user -c rxvt from a root terminal to test this? I
don't know that I could help diagnose this, but I do know it works fine
for me on my BL3 testbed.

If I first chmod o-w ?typ?, then user cannot open an rxvt as above.
I have rc.S set to chmod o+w ?typ? so if I would need to reboot after undoing that to do a real test. But I know I had to add that line in order for Bl2 to let user start an rxvt.


I think you would still need to change a few things such as /tmp.

True. But /tmp is the only thing I needed to change any permissions
on--that for the sake of Sylpheed. But if other programs are installed,
perhaps permissions on other directories would need ot be changed as well?

lynx also uses /tmp. Opera might, I forget.
