I need to make immediate line printings through
a serial port, let's say, com2.
As an experiment, do the following:

printing it. Did it work? If so, we can
adapt the printing routine in wp.
I am looking at the wp script. How would it determine that you are printing to ttyS1 (com2) instead of lp0 or lp1? It looks like the 'device' line just selects for the last parallel port.
Can you simply insert the required driver for the serial printer then
cat document |dos2unix -d > /dev/ttyS1
This would require a 'generic printer' that can print plain text.
There is a very large Serial HOWTO online.
