Is there another PDF-reader not mentioned here which would work best with BL3
?
Which Slackware 4.0 PDF-reader is the most straightforward to set up
within BL3-50 ?

I compiled for BL2 (glibc-2.2.5) svp, which is a very small (27K) and fast pdf reader based on svgalib and ghostscript. You would need to add glibc from SW8.1 or SW9.0 and also libvga.so.1 to use my version, or you may attempt to compile your svgalib and svp for libc5. (I posted a generic glibc 2.2.5 libvga.so.1.9.25 and several for specific cards. The i810 is not yet working for me).

svp - SVgaPdf reader?

You can also view pdf files directly with ghostscript using X or svgalib, through Slackware 7 gs. After that only with X.
