- Subject: [BL] compiling as 'user'
- Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2007 20:41:07 +0000 (UTC)
Another list member kindly set up a 'keesan' account for me on his fast computer with broadband, where I am welcome to browse/download and compile. But it is Slackware 10.2, with glibc 2.3.5, and I want to compile dynamically against 2.2.5 and statically against uClibc.
I downloaded uClibc (at 70K/sec!) but since I am not root I cannot chroot to it in order to compile with it (busybox and maybe the latest lynx). Can 'user' do something similar by typing a command setting the path for executables to /uclibc/bin etc. instead of /bin etc.? How do I point gcc at the uClibc libraries?
How do I compile against glibc 2.2.5 in my home directory? Do I edit makefile or use ./configure with a switch to point it at this glibc?
