I noticed there is no shutdown command.

CTRL-ALT-DEL does a clean shutdown.

Are you folks just running swapoff, umount,
and sync manually?

No. If you don't like CTRL-ALT-DEL, you can
execute: reboot

Then it not only shuts down but reboots (back to DOS if booting with loadlin, or to linux with lilo). Sometimes I don't wait long enough and turn it off accidentally before it starts rebooting, and it has to check the hard disk next time. A shutdown command makes it more obvious when it is ready to turn off.

I use shutdown -h now in BL2 to avoid this.

Steven
