Steven, did you compile XFree86 or use a Slackware version?

I compiled Xvesa and some of the X binaries (eg rxvt).
Most of the X libraries come from Slackware; however,
I did compile libX and libXpm, but I can't remember
whether I actually put that libX in BL3.

Is there some way I could compile just the libraries?

How would one check which version of XFree86 was used in the BL3 libX11?

And would you have the time and interest to compile 3.3.6 X libraries for BL3 to test if they work better with S3 and SVGA X servers and xpdf and maybe other precompiled X programs (those compiled for libc6 such as the slightly later Rosegarden)? I would need a lot of help to do it.

Yes, you specify what to compile in the config file.

Cheers,
Steven
