Computer would boot to ramdisk BL2 but not ext2. There was a major difference in the boot batch files. ext2 mem=256MB

The gpf occurred right after the line that said memory 256MB when booting to ext2. We had reduced it to 128MB and it was looking for more.

I can boot into ramdisk BL2 and chroot to ext2 BL2 and insmod rtl8139 but
this is not a convenient way to boot.

You could modify /etc/rc in ramdisk BL2 to do the chrooting for you.

Where does the GPF occur? Are you booting ramdisk and hdd with the
same kernel?

Thanks for asking.
