I hope you don't think I was complaining about a few minor problems with mutt for BL. I was really impressed that you got it mostly working, with pmail instead of whatever is normally used in linux. I can't even get lynx mail to work with pmail.

The second version of mutt BL2 even works with my ISP, where Steven's mail script is not working for some strange reason.

If your make any more changes to mutt, it would help if you included in your replacement .pmail the memo line, so the 'mail' script will work (test it out, I am not sure that is all that is needed), and instead of replacing links.cfg, add the zgv lines to the end of it so we won't lose any changes we already made. You probably simply zipped together your own setup.

And maybe you could not include all the files from kbd.tgz but suggest users install it themselves, to save download time.

In BL3 pmail does not do authenticated SMTP.

I think sendmail does.

There are basically two sources of bugs included in mutt-bl2.tgz
and mutt-bl3.tgz:

- When I tried to compile the program in bl1 and bl2 I had to remove
many features (probably authenticated SMTP) in order to get it to
compile at all. The binaries in both packets are hardly more than
demos. Whoever wants to use mutt for real work should compile it
himself.

- The configuration of the mail client is rather complicated and
unconventional. It is not completely covered by the Mutt documentation
(eg. the sendmail script has a slightly different function). So the
documentation might be even misleading. If you change eg. the mail
box format the whole mail transport concept of my configuration will
stop working. On the other hand studying the Mutt documentation is the
only way to understand and fix the configuration files included in
the packets.
