I use links-0.90 in BL3
I see that BL2 includes links-0.93.

Their size differ in aprox. 50kb.
Both were compiled in 10/07/2000.
I think one uses linux libc-1 and the other libc-2.

What are the advantages of links-0.93 over links-0.90 ?

I don't know. If you really want to know, download the links-0.93
source package and have a look at the Changelog. That will provide
all the details.

By translations, I think this means you can run links in more languages. It is also possible to compile without support for languages other than English but this only makes it slightly smaller.

I am guessing Steven just used 0.90 because he had it already compiled for BL1 (libc5). He spent a lot of time trying to compile it smaller for BL2 using 0.93, and decided against using a larger later version so that it would fit on a floppy disk with everything else.

0.96 is the first version with SSL. They are now on Version 1.0 prerelease.
