I've installed BasicLinux to my old laptop's hd (ThinkPad 365X, 72mb RAM, 133mhz) and have managed to get X Windows going as well. I've had a few problems along the way, but nothing too bad. :) My latest project is an attempt to get KDE running, but I've reached something of a stand still. KDE looks nice but nothing works... None of the buttons, icons or menus do anything at all when clicked on...
Let me back up a little. When I first installed KDE, I edited .xinitrc with "startkde". The error that I get is: /root/.xinitrc: startkde: command not found. And then X shuts down. I saw somewhere that I should have used "exec startkde", but the results were much the same. I finally tracked down startkde at /opt/kde/bin/startkde. I edited .xinitrc with /opt/kde/bin/startkde and KDE started just fine, with the exception of nothing working. If I want to use something, I have to go to /opt/kde/bin and click on the file/program I want. I could go and point every icon and button toward it's program in /opt/kde/bin but that seems like more work than is necessary...
Has any one else had this problem with KDE and BasicLinux or is it just me? Do I have to move KDE somewhere else, or am I just missing something? All help will be appreciated greatly.

:)
