You will find them toward the bottom of /etc/inittab
Those four respawn lines are the getties that provide the
four virtual consoles in BL2. Add or subtract if you wish;
however, any changes you make will not take effect until
the system reinitializes (eg. reboots).

Do 'man bash' and look for: fg, bg, and jobs.
