Really, how current speakers pronounce the language today is not a
subject of this list.     Apparently you are unaware that some changes
occurred in the langauge in the last 2500 years.   The subject of the list is
biblical Hebrew.    In this context you quoted Y. Blau, whowrote in part:
Y. Blau:
...הקמץ
הגדול, שהוא תנועה ארוכה מבחינה הסטורית
ā לפחות בשלב הקדם-טבריני), ואת הקמץ
הקטן, שהוא תנועה קצרה מבחינה היסטורית In English: " ... The large
Qamatz which is a long vowel historically, at least at the pre-Tiberian
stage, and the small Qamatzwhich is a short vowel historically"...      BTW,
by not translating  passages from the Modern language you express disregard
for the majority of members of this list who do not know it, just as you do
when you interlace your posts with modern Hebrew words.  Uri Hurwitz

This is not what I said, or what I intended to say
on page 95, (not 65) in the last paragraph, Blau says unequivocally:

כפי שראינו, בפי נקדני טבריה מבטא הקמץ
– קטן כגדול – היה תמיד ɔ, כלומר תנועה
מעוגלת נמוכה למחצה. עצם ההבחנה בין
גדול לקטן זרה אפוא למסורת טבריה

In other words, no qatan and gadol for the Teberias "masoretes".
