Greetings B-Hebrew,
I have a question about the verb RPH in Psalms 46:10.
Psa. 46:11 הרפו ודעו כי אנכי אלהים ארום בגוים ארום בארץ
HRPW WD(W KY )NKY )LHYM )RWM BGWYM )RWM B)RC
It is a Hiphil Imperative here in Ps 46:10. Most often it is translated as
"Be still." Often times in the Hiphil it is also translated as "Stop" or
"Enough." It often connotes the idea of "letting go", "relaxing" or
"ceasing" in other binyans.
What I'm wondering is if it would be acceptable to translate this as "Stop
stuggling." or if that would be perhaps reading too much into the verb.
Warmest Regards,
Matthew T. Williams
