This is really a matter of semantics. Literally, the "Septuagint" or
"seventy" refers to the translation of the Torah (only!), as told in the
Latter of Aristeas and in later versions of the story. In time, the term
came to mean the entire Greek translation of the Jewish Bible, which
apparently happened over a long time. Fred is correct that the oldest
complete mss. also include the NT, but the ancient, pre-Christian Septuagint
obviously did not.

Really?

I was unaware that the septuagint was created at one time or even in one
century.

I also understand that general agreement as to the canon of the septuagint
has never arrived.

And surely, the oldest complete manuscripts of the septuagint include both
old & new testaments as but a single document; witness codices vaticanus,
sinaiticus and alexandrinus.
