Hello all;
The masoretic text a wonderful testament to book writing ability in a world
without printer or processor.
The pronunciation codes sometimes seem a bit lacking in consistency,
however.
ועתה הרגו כל זכר בטף וכל אשה ידעת איש למשכב זכר הרגו
numbers 31:17
הרגו , imperative tense, masculine, plural .... pointed for
customary pronunciation "hir-gu" at the beginning of the verse; and yet
the identical word coded for pronunciation "ha-ro-gu" at sentence end.
Does word pronunciation change at the end of a clause versus beginning of a
clause?
regards,
