This redundant "Gemination" does not exist now, and if it is not currently practiced there is no reason to assume it existed ever before. Could you explain to me for what purpose did the (Tiberian?) Hebrew speaker of old double in his mouth a letter written only once?

1. If a native speaker wants to walk around with a tarbush on his head he may do it.
2. How come it disappeared? Because it never existed.

Ok, this is a non-answer. How do you know this? What proof do you have? Assertions do not an argument make.
