So why not take the lead and use terminology yourself that is correct and
doesn’t confuse? Terms like ”suffix morph” or “suffixing morph”, “infix
morph” and so forth?
Thanks for mentioning that you didn’t invent nor even like the terms, that
clarifies matters.
In philosophy I’ve had to deal with the same problem, historical terminology
that is incorrect, but tradition carries it on. In those cases, where I use
such incorrect terminology, I make it clear that the terminology is
incorrect, why it is incorrect, that I don’t like it, and what would
probably be more accurate terminology. That usually prevents
misunderstandings.
