Christian scriptures? What is that? The answer, if it can be ascertained. or
the conclusion that scripture would seem to support both views, would be
found in the Hebrew.

Yes, I just checked Karaite-Korner and it's on 23rd for them. They seem to
start the count on the day after the following Saturday (Sabbath). We are
told that Jesus spent 40 days appearing to his disciples before ascending to
heaven and then after 10 days was Pentecost. Of course Jesus was killed on a
Friday and so the next Saturday was literally the day after.

Interesting why Orthodox Jewish count puts the festival so much earlier.
They seem to start the count the day after the Passover? I guess this all
hangs on what exactly is meant by 'Sabbath'. The Christian scriptures seem to
support both views.

Karaite Jews, Messianic types, I think some Christians. Actually, it is
very
debatable as to when to begin counting...

Lev 23:15 'And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you
brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves:
seven completed Sabbaths.'

Which Sabbath?
