Dear members of the group,

Since I am a translator of the Bible,
I wish to know your opinion:

Is it correct to translate the
"ineffable" strict name of God "YAHWEH" as "The Existing One"?

If you agree, please show me scholar references and bibliography,
mostly findable in the Internet.

Thank you.

Many segholate nouns, thought traditionally to belong to sifr class,
are not encountered in Tanakh in possessive forms. Thus, we don't know
from the Tanakh if ceves or mered belong to sifr class.

When was the idea developed that segholate nouns belong to the sifr
class by default unless Tanakh has them in possessive malki form?

Vadim Cherny
