I'm sorry if this is a little off topic but I'm having difficulties with
Hebrew in MSWord and I don't know where else to turn for answers.
The problem is that MS Word will seemingly randomly switch out of my
Unicode Hebrew font of choice (SBL Hebrew) to my left-to-right default
font (Times New Roman) while I'm typing Hebrew. I have set the default
font for Complex Scripts to SBL Hebrew so it should stick. I haven't
figured out exactly what triggers the switch. I'll be typing in Hebrew
and then all of a sudden I realize I'm no longer using the SBL Hebrew
but it's changed to Times New Roman. Note that OpenOffice does NOT have
this problem. I use both MSOffice and OpenOffice on the same PC using
Windows XP, and the problem is in MS Office not OpenOffice, so I assume
the OS is just fine. I usually use OpenOffice for Hebrew but I'm
switching to MS Word because I'm starting to use more PowerPoint and
copying and pasting from OpenOffice to MSOffice doesn't always work all
that well. I should also note that I've had this problem with both
MSWord 2003 and 2007.
Has anyone else had these problems, or know how to get Word to quite
switching out of the Hebrew font?
Thanks in advance,
Charles Grebe
