Sorry it took a while, but I went back and looked up the commentaries again.
Minhat Shai only adds that not all manuscripts have the dagesh in the kof.
If you look carefully at Rashi you will see that he actually (succinctly as
usual)
gives all three interpretations that sifei hahamim explores,
namely KN), TKN, and KN (nest).
Despite the aramaic and septuagint readings,
from the comparison with the rest of the sentence, the root TKN seems the
most probable.
