As an observer who sometimes disagrees with Peter Kirk,
he knows a lot more Biblical Hebrew than you. An
example is the following:

The two accounts contradict if and only if you do not use
Biblical Hebrew syntax and grammar. Modern Hebrew
uses a grammar that has elements taken from German
(Yiddish) or Russian, so I would not be surprised if the two
accounts contradict when reading with modern Hebrew
understanding. But in Biblical Hebrew the two accounts
compliment each other: one from a God's eye view and
the second from a man's eye view.
