I need to clarify my earlier comment:
"GJ - Sometimes an initial Lamed can drop out like the
Nun. Eg. first word in Gen. 2:15."
Lambdin's grammar states that the verb laqach "to
take"(lamed, qof, heh) (can't find the list of
transliteration rules for this group anymore) is an
irregular verb. It acts like a I-nun verb. I don't
know off-hand if any other I-lamed verbs act like
this.
