Hallo members of the board, Regarding the word SHALOM and SHALVAH.Sorry, Chris. This is the official list transliteration, but here is a more user friendly version with references (to the Hebrew text) and the words in question with a user friendly transliteration.
Is the 'waw' an interchange for the 'mem'? Taking notice too of the
differing roots proposed by another source ie: shin lamed mem for shalom and
shin lamed waw (or Heh) for shalvah.
Thanking you, Chris -- Ireland.
PS thanking you for your comments on my last question posted. Although the
'raw data source' kindly given by you Peter was somewhat bewildering.
Exodus 20:5 word 4: ta`obdem (hophal)
Exodus 23:24 word 4: ta`obdem (hophal)
Deuteronomy 5:9 word 4: ta`obdem (hophal)
Deuteronomy 13:3 word 13: wena`obdem (hophal)
2 Samuel 21:5 word 8: nishmadnu (niphal) (but does this one really have an object suffix? a more recent WTS morphology apparently analyses as niphal 1st person plural with no suffix)
Psalm 42:5 word 9: 'eddaddem (hithpael)
Psalm 109:3 word 4: wayyillaxamuni (niphal)
Isaiah 14:2 word 5: wehitnaxalum (hithpael)
Isaiah 44:21 word 11: tinnasheni (niphal)
Analyses as in the Westminster morphology, checked with a more recent version.
