Dear Uri,

I quite agree ! In fact my article on "The Route of the Exodus," just
recently revised, NOW http://www.bibleorigins.net/RouteOfTheExodus.html
cites from K.A. Kitchen's latest work on the subject (K. A. Kitchen. _On the
Reliability of the Old Testament_. 2003. William B. Eerdmans Publisher.
Grand Rapids, Michigan. pp.662, available hardbound [$40] and soft bound).

He and I AGREE on a number of issues and DISAGREE on others. Also of
interest by another prominent Egyptologist is James K. Hoffmeier. _Israel in
Egypt, The Evidence for the Authenticity of the Exodus Tradition
Tradition_.1996. Oxford University Press. pp.244. Softbound [$20]. A word of
warning for Conservative scholars on this list- neither Kitchen or Hoffmeier
embrace 1 Kings 6:1 and its 480 years elapsing between the Exodus and
Solomon's 4th year as indicating an Exodus of ca. 1446 BCE favored by many
Conservative scholars. They understand that the Exodus is a Ramesside event.

For arguments that the Exodus is 1446 BCE I would suggest the following
authors:

Charles F. Aling. _Egypt and Bible History, From Earliest Times to 1000 BC_.
1981. Baker Book House. Grand Rapids, Michigan. Softcover. ("out of print,"
but may be available via used book dealers on the internet) Cf. the
following url for such book dealers:
http://www.bibleorigins.net/booksreccomended.html

Alfred J. Hoerth. _Archaeology and the Old Testament_. 1998. Baker Books.
Grand Rapids, Michigan. pp.447. Hardbound [$30].

There are of course any number of articles on the various dates of the
Exodus and its sites, just go to www.google.com and using their search
engine key-in whatever subject interests you and you will usually get
hundreds if not thousands of urls to peruse.

Regards, Walter
