To Karl Randolph et al.:To ascribe all the rules pertaining to treatment of
blood to health concerns seems too simplistic. Gen.9:4 's prohibits the
eating of blood not because it is unhealthy but because it is the seat of
life
which God"requires" of every beast and man, i.e. it is HIS, hence infused
with
sanctity and treated accordingly. This is my understanding of not using it as
food, of "burying"it (cover with dust) , its use in the Tempel cult etc.
etc. Someone with a Concordance may be able to quote other verses which shed
light on the place of blood in the Hebrew mind. Thx.
