In Ezekiel 21:20 (verse 15 in English) there is the term )BXT (abachat), any
ideas on its meaning? This is the only place it occurs in Tenakh.
The LXX assumes that it is a misspelling for ThBXT (slaughter) (which also
appears later in the verse) and so translated it as sfagia. Are there any
variant readings that support the LXX? Or would a better translation be
fright or terror? Are there any clues from cognate languages?
Thanks for any help.
Karl W. Randolph.
