Vince, I have been wondering similar things in relation to a discussion on
another list. What makes Gen 12:2-3 poetry and 22:17-18 not? I proposed an
analysis of the latter as three couplets, plus a closing clause introduced
by ("QEB ):A$ER which forms an inclusio round the poetic section with the
similar clause in v.16, introduced by YA(AN ):A$ER - and concluded from that
that the last clause of v.17 and the first of v.18 were in antithetical
parallelism. But the other party to the discussion disputed my analysis (and
my inference that ZAR:(:AKF has the same referent in both clauses). Is there
any way to tell if I am right or wrong?
