ADVERTISEMENT

Rhodes College, the Department of Religious Studies, announces a
tenure-track opening, beginning Fall 2003, for an assistant professor of
Hebrew Bible. Methodological expertise in one or more of the following
areas is desirable: archaeology, sociology, rabbinic interpretation. The
teaching load is six courses per year (three per semester) including RS
101: Introduction to the Biblical Tradition, 200-level courses in biblical
studies, and Humanities 101-102 (The Search for Values in Light of History

Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree. Enthusiasm for and the
ability to teach well at the undergraduate level, evidence of promise as a
scholar and colleague are expected.
