Andrew,
The construct and indefinite absolute forms would look identical. Therefore,
we have to find
grounds other than form to work out which it actually is. I think context
makes it more than
probable that in Jer 26.1 we have a construct chain.
With Gen 1.1, we have the same problem. The form could be identified as
either a construct or an
indefinite absolute form. The context, however, is not as easy as JEr 26.1 to
work out. Thus, there
is more debate about Gen 1.1.
