Dear Jon Clemence,

You do not clearly tranliterate your Hebrew phrase, nor do you identify
its context with a Bible reference.

It appears to be Ba`aL &e`aR, which would mean something like "extremely
hirsute or hairy". The phrase occurs in 2 Kings 1:8, as a description of
Elijah the Tishbite's appearance. It means literally "lord of hair".

For a similar phrase see Isaiah 41:15, "I will make you into a
threshing-sledge, new and sharp, *with many teeth*" (NIV) Ba`aL PiYPiYYoT
"lord of a mouthful of teeth".
