Can someone advise me if the "wilderness of Zin" near Kadesh-Barnea was ever
rendered ha-sina or h-sina, something to that effect ?
I note some observations on Zin-
"Num 43:4; and Josh 15:3, where MT sina, "to Zin," is rendered "Senna" in
both LXX and Latin Vulgate...In both Num 34:4 and Josh 15:3 the name "Zin"
occurs with the locative h- in a context that suggests a distinction between
Zin and the Wilderness of Zin. Some have interpreted these passages as
evidence that there was a specific place, located between Kadesh and the
ascent of Akrabbim named Zin from which the wilderness derived its name."
