I guess we all know by now that virtually every "rule" in BH turns out to be
an oversimplification. But is it not the general rule that the suffixes are
appended to the "construct" form of nouns?
********************
Peter again: "But my point should have been more specific: A word with a
pronominal suffix can never be part of a construct chain or in a possessive
relationship with a following noun. The pronominal suffix makes it definite
and that is incompatible with it being part of a construct chain."
""""""""""""""""""""""""
No disagreement here.
Sorry about the "smixut." It is merely the Hebrew term that describes a
noun that "leans" on a following word. I believe it and "construct" are the
same thing.

Shalom,
Charles
