I use the word "lad" in everyday language quite a lot actually. I always find
myself
addressing groups of men that I know as "lads". There's no negative
connotation whatsoever
in it. And no one has ever shown any sign of offence at it. It's pretty run
of the mill
sort of language here in Sydney.
