Just think what would happen if you read Deut. 6:4 without the guttural
ayin (something that has happened in various stages of the Hebrew
language) and confusing the daleth of the last word with a resh (a
typical scribal error both in palaeo-Hebrew and the Aramaic script):
Perhaps, O Israel, YHWH our God, is another YHWH?
Or:
Perhaps, O Israel, YHWH our God, YHWH is another?
Also, the enlarged letters form the word 'ed, "witness", something quite
befitting a confession of faith.
Sincerely,
