in the mid-90s (ca 1994-6?), ahuvah shulman wrote a dissertation on the
topic at u of toronto. i don't recall the details, but it had to do with
speaker orientation: ten "give" vs tenah "give (me)", etc. also curious
how it might relate to directional heh on nouns.
i have unpublished studies of the heh on first person forms of the
consecutives, which indicate a dialect continuum for the latest books.
this line of research plays into my modal theory of the consecutives.
