And I suppose if I were to judge strictly on the basis of what seems to
make the best sense, I would go with the usual rendering as well. But I
still tend to think that the word order fits best with the Masoretic
accenting. As far as it not making sense, I think it does. The idea
would be that your hand is finding something to do in your
strength--possibly a sense of looking for activity that will fit with
your natural abilities, or possibly just saying that you have this
potential (strength) to go out and use as you find opportunity. So I can
see it going either way and still making sense.
