In I Chronicles 2:1-2, the twelve tribes are listed in this order:
Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Joseph, Benjamin,
Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
But in I Chronicles 2:3 through 7:40, they are discussed in this order:
Judah, Simeon, Ruben, Gad, Manasseh, Levi, Issachar, Benjamin, Naphtali,
Manasseh, Ephraim, Asher.
I can understand that Judah was pulled to the front of the list, but
other questions remain:
Why wasn't Levi also pulled to the front of the list?
Why is Manasseh discussed twice?
What happened to Dan and Zebulun?
