There is a problem that some developers are strictly against this.
I was trying to persuade them but no chance. Even

#auto eth0
#iface eth0 inet dhcp

as i suggested on
https://lists.ibiblio.org/sympa/arc/sm-discuss/2009-January/019124.html was
too soft for them. :-(
They really do not want to attract users.

Imho we need some quick and easy system for voting for and against some of
these decisions.
Some of our decisions are only one man decision. :-(
