Yes. PostgreSQL 8.1.0 with GCC 4.0.2 on AMD64. I have the compile log. I also have PostgreSQL 8.1.3 compiled with GCC 4.0.2 on my laptop, also AMD64. Maybe it's GCC 4.0.3 :-)?

The point I was trying to make was that this shouldn't have been missed.
I can understand that such things won't be caught if it's got an odd
combination of ./configure options.

I think the error was introduced in later version of either PostgreSQL or GCC than I mentioned above.

Well, I feel that a better testing process for something this critical
needs to be in place. The spells that change versions could've been
individually tested against gcc4.

In the absence of Prometheus, we have much larger space for human error, and much smaller coverage. I don't think we're doing fantastic in the testing realm, but we're managing quite well.
